Following Your Intuition, The Subtle Energies

Posted in Discoveries, Inspirational Quotes on October 23rd, 2011 by Sandy – Be the first to comment

This headline is one of the current themes of my blog. Part of the idea is to simply look at what you are doing and as it happens realize that the impulse may have come from another dimension, an invisible partner as I like to refer to the process.  My Facebook skills need sharpening, but today when  I opened it I  found this posted.  It seemed timely.

I felt I should just pass it on.  Like wise regardless of how much bad news seems to pour out of the media, there are kernels of good news also. You would not suspect this if it were not pointed out.

If one looks at the “Occupy” movement with an objective eye you will see that at one end of the spectrum is the old paradigm of simply taking advantage of the system in place. What I mean by this is that if you are a young investment banker your job is to look for opportunity. If there is a legal loophole that creates this, you are doing your job to point this out to our superiors.  Does this mean that you are greedy. Not really. Does it mean that the loophole should be plugged. In all liklihood yes. And that is where we are. We have a crisis of consciousness in which people instinctively are recognizing that the system we have needs to be of greater service to the entire community and in so doing “all boats will rise.” If we do not then there is a collapse and all boats sink.  I see the criticism of some saying that the occupiers have no plan. I feel the energy of their action is like the seed pushing through the crack in a cement sidewalk. It is pushing towards the light. And perhaps this is what we are witnessing: people are pushing towards the light not knowing how it will play out, but feeling called to have a part.

Last night I watched the film “Abyss.” As you will recall this film was about a nuclear crisis, ultimately resolved by the intervention of people with conscience and friendly aliens suggesting that with the advent of nuclear power, war is no longer a viable option if the species wants to survive. I think if we pay attention we will see subtle messages coming in from all sources  propelling us towards an emerging brighter future.

Are you experiencing the same thing?

Why You Should Consider Being A Contrarian

“Consistency is the last refuge of the unimaginative.”
Oscar Wilde

I saw this quote on an e-mail today. It was the catalyst for this reflection. We all like the familiar, the tried and true, and being one of the gang. Yet it is that habit which frequently prevents us from being a bit adventuresome, from paying attention to our intuition. A contrarian  is one who consciously decides to swim against the current, to not run with the pack. It is this kind of conscious decision making that can open new doors. It is especially important today. The herd mentality can be frantic. Look at the markets.

In my book I wrote about how I had met a very wealthy financier in my earlier years who had had bone cancer as a youth. He had been bed ridden at age ten and  at the time and had asked that his parents bring him every auto biography in the library( There are numerous biographies but very few autobiographies by contrast).   He told me that there was one commonality exhibited by all of those whose autobiographies he had read: they all were contrarians. They all, in this sense, purposely marched to the beat of a different drummer. He was deformed with one leg shorter than the other, but said that he was determined to follow this model for life. He did, marrying a beautiful woman, raising a wonderful family, and becoming extremely successful in business.

Something to think about.

The Kind of Decision Making That Kills Creativity

Yep, suffering from lack of creativity

“The Worst Career Advice: Do What You Love”

I saw this headline on an article on Business Net and could not help but think how much it can cut the creative process short.

“It is  one of the worst pieces of career advice that I bet each of you has not only received but given,”  says author Penelope Trunk, “ Forget that. It’s absurd. Career decisions are not decisions about what do I love most. Career decisions are about what kind of life do I want to set up for myself. After all , how could you possibly pick one thing you love to do?”

Well, here’s another way to think about it … read more »

The Journey of Truth

“All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident. “  Arthur Schopenhauer

In today’s world you have to be very vigilant in discerning truth from hype.  I am currently living in Mexico. People back in the states asked me if I am not crazy saying matter of factly they would not go near Mexico with a ten foot pole.  Are they right? read more »

Why Should I Study Metaphysics If I Want To Be Creative?

Posted in Inspirational Quotes, Thinking Patterns on January 10th, 2011 by Sandy – 6 Comments

Terence Mckenna, once said to a group of us in a lecture, “ The world is not just strange, it is stranger than strange.” And now it is changing in front of as if we were in a magic show. Technology has made much of this possible  with instant coverage available to half the world’s population. New species of life are being found  virtually every day. Even repeating physical natural phenomena are wonders to behold( gloriamatutina)  At the same time not just cyclical changes but structural changes are abounding in economics, our climate, and the cultural barriers separating nations and people. Old patterns and explanations are falling apart and the new ones have not arisen. So where does one turn?

Metaphysics is the study of the nature of reality which contains a continuous expression of the novel and strange. It is the pursuit of the great why and how of the universe. The skeptic often stands on labeling ideas as quackery because there is no scientific proof; but lack of proof is not proof of absence.  The great metaphysical questions of how our minds work and their connectivity to other forces are often answered in ancient wisdom texts, channeling, and psychic observation. Yet the    absolute scientific proof lags although quantum physics is closing the  gap. So  here is why we should study metaphysics…. read more »

Who said,”The secret of my influence has always been that it remained secret” ?

He also said,

“I don’t do drugs. I am drugs?”

As we all know drugs are meant to remove us from reality, usually one that is annoying or painful to one that is pain free or pleasurable. The drug in this sense is an agent of change, and we are subject to the will of the drug.

But who was this person and what did he mean….? read more »

Always like to find a provocative quote.

Here is one I found from the love coach.

When To Be Bold

Posted in Inspirational Quotes on December 5th, 2010 by Sandy – 4 Comments

“Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain

Go for greatness

Like investing, the natural thing to do is to invest when everything looks like it is rising. You want to get in to keep from missing something. Yet this is frequently when it is too late. On the other hand when all looks daunting, perhaps even hopeless it is the exact moment to be bearing down. In the advertising business frequently my clients knew we could not possibly know more than they did about their business and what they wanted to see from us was.. read more »

“Give me the luxuries of life and I will willingly do without the necessities.”
Frank Lloyd Wright

I think that there is a lot hidden in this tongue in cheek quote. Much food for thought. Frank Lloyd Wright always seemed to have the best of everything and often was in debt. However, we have been talking on this blog of new ways to think and manifest. Wright apparently focused on luxury knowing that in order to have luxury appear in one’s life the requisite funding and or conditions to provide luxury would easily provide the necessities. So in essence he would never do without the necessities.

Secondly, Wright was drawn to the luxuries not because he needed to impress anyone with them. He was drawn to them for the the sheer beauty of the experience and appreciation for things well-made.

In this sense the message is to focus on those material things and comforts we truly want to experience, not as a means to something else, but for the pure joy of the experience.
